New transparent flexible hybrid network “ceramer” materials have been synthesized by incorporating triethoxysilane capped polytetramethylene oxide with highly reactive titanium isopropoxide or zirconium n‐propoxide without adding chelating agents. Both of these types of ceramer materials display high transparency while the zirconium systems show considerable transparency in the UV region. The titanium systems exhibit higher refractive index than the corresponding zirconium materials of equal alkoxide content.
