Cross sections for photoionisations of the ground and metastable states of C 2+ , 1s 2 2s 2 ( 1 S) and 1s 2 2s2p( 3 P degrees ), and of the ground state of C 3+ , 1s 2 2s( 2 S) are calculated. The necessary wavefunctions are obtained in the close-coupling approximation. Inner-shell photoionisation of C 3+ is included.
