Fine structure is observed in the dissociative attachment cross section for O - /SO 2 , S - /SO 2 and S - /OCS. It is attributed to the vibrational excitation of the neutral fragments SO, O 2 and CO. Appearance of such structure on these sigma (E) curves is shown to be a consequence of the kinetic energy of the negative ion fragment.
