Slow domain wall motion in uniaxial cobalt films has been studied by the longitudinal Kerr effect with switching field and temperature. On applying a given reverse field, about H c , domains grow with decreasing velocity until saturation. The films were made by evaporation from a filament of tungsten which has a profound effect.
