Summary. Details are given of the production of an antibody to hepatitis‐associated antigen (HAA). Rabbits were injected with unfractionated serum obtained from patients known to have circulating HAA. Using a double diffusion agarose gel technique the absorbed rabbit serum was shown to contain a precipitating antibody against sera known to be HAA positive whereas a large selection of normal human sera was consistently negative. Further studies demonstrated reaction patterns of identity when compared with anti‐HAA obtained from human sources.
