This paper reports several results of the phenomena, presumably derived from a cathode emission, which the authors have photographed using a high-speed camera during research into the pre-breakdown phenomena in liquids in a bubble chamber. It was found that the time required for the bubbles to reach an observable size (greater than 0.01 cm diameter) after the application of the field to the super-heated liquid, was approximately 0.5-0.8 msec. The pressure change of liquid in the bubble chamber was measured directly with a new type ceramic transducer, Pb(Zr, Ti)O 3 .
