The anomalous current pulses observed in the time-of-flight experiments on layered organic photoconductors and doping modulated amorphous multi-layers have been shown to arise from the delayed injection of charge carriers by mathematical simulations. The similar but not identical features observed in the two types of samples can be accounted for by the same log-normal distribution of charge injection with the time of most probable injection in two different regimes with respect to the transit time.
