In a previous paper Recent work by Melville, Otken & Kovalenko (1955) showed that, in the immature pig, methionine sulphur does not act as a source of ergothioneine sulphur. In order to clarify the situation it was decided to repeat the earlier experiments. The present paper reports the results of this study, together with some new observations on the incorporation of radioactive sulphur administered as [35S]methionine into spermatozoa and seminal plasma of the boar.
