The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of native cotton and cotton grafted with methyl methacrylate, styrene and vinyl acetate were measured at different temperatures and frequencies. The results indicate that grafting results in a decrease of the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss, which may be due to a decrease in the number of the polar groups. The apparent activation energy of relaxation is calculated.
