I recently introduced new consensus methods that were intended to show great? er sensitivity to common cladistic infor? mation than do component-based consen? sus methods without producing the ambiguity inherent in Adams consensus trees (Wilkinson, 1994a). My purposes here are to correct inaccuracies in my original treatment and to develop an analogue of one of these methods that is applicable to unrooted trees.
