An absolute manometer is described which provides a means of measuring vapor pressures in the range 0.5 to 20 microns with a precision and accuracy of better than one percent. Construction and use of the manometer is described in detail and an analysis of the possible sources of error is given. The vapor pressure of mercury has been determined and is presented to give an example of the performance of the manometer.
