Squamosal craniosynostosis is the premature fusion of the squamosal suture of the skull and commonly occurs with the fusion of other sutures. The presentation of squamosal synostosis can vary with the number of sutures involved, fusion of other sutures, and co-existing genetic syndromes. As such, CT imaging with three-dimensional reconstruction can aid accurate diagnosis. Although most patients do not present with dysmorphic head shapes or concerns for intracranial pressure necessitating surgical intervention, existing literature is limited in guiding the management of this uncommon disorder. This paper proposes a stepwise evaluation and treatment approach for the effective management of squamosal craniosynostosis.
