Correlating the intensity fluctuations of signals received from sources radiating at different frequencies provides a useful means of obtaining information about the sources and the irregular scattering medium. Existing theoretical expressions for such intensity cross-correlations are based on the solution to the second moment equation for the complex amplitude of the field in the extreme multiple-scattering region. The frequency cross-correlation of intensity fluctuations is obtained here from an approximate solution of the appropriate fourth moment equation. The behaviour of this correlation, valid at all distances in a multiply scattering medium, is examined.
