Summary The efficacy of pyridoxine in the suppression of lactation has been tested in a placebo‐controlled, double‐blind trial of 253 puerperal patients. Ninety‐five per cent of the women treated with pyridoxine had their lactation successfully suppressed within one week, compared to 83 per cent for stilboestrol and 17 per cent for the placebo.
