The technique of electron paramagnetic resonance has been used to obtain atomic displacement damage profiles in SiO2 implanted with Ar ions at 125 keV. Measured damage projected range and profile width are both 27% larger than expected from calculations. Results for isochronally annealed samples suggest that annealing proceeds uniformly without a profile redistribution.
