The results of this enzyme activity for 110 normal patients, 57 patients with liver disease of multiple etiology and 20 whose liver dysfunction was presumably due to metastatic disease are presented. The possible usefulness of serum cholinesterase as a test of parenchymal liver disease is discussed in relation to the other standard liver function tests.METHODSThe method used in determining serum cholinesterase is an adaptation of that originally developed by Michel,1but employs a colorimeter rather than potentiometer for measurements....Bibliography1.
