Group‐specific component subtyping: A high resolution method employing short run cathodic drift

A high resolution polyacrylamide gel isoelectric focusing method is described for group‐specific component (Gc) subtyping. With this method all the common Gc subtypes can be identified and the Gc variant 1A1 bands are clearly resolved from the Gc 1F and 1S bands. The run time of 90 min represents a substantial saving in time when compared to many other methods reported in literature.
