Precise measurement of the specific heat of two-dimensional Ising-like antiferromagnets K 2 CoF 4 and Rb 2 CoF 4 near the transition temperature are reported. A symmetric logarithmic singularity is observed at the transition temperature in both materials. The result is in excellent agreement with Onsager's solution for the two-dimensional Ising model. Further, to clarify the short-range order effect in the two-dimensional Ising-like system, temperature variation of magnetic specific heat of K 2 CoF 4 is also examined over a wide temperature range.
