Integrating Library Instruction into an Undergraduate Art Historical Methods Course

The Fine Arts Department at Dickinson College offers an Art Historical Methods Seminar to all senior majors. An integral part of this course is an introduction into the principal bibliographic tools in art historical research be a librarian and the course instructor. The students are introduced to the printed tools in once class and online databases in a second session. The learned skills are used to research artists and their work for an exhibition of selected works from the college's art gallery.
