Aflatoxin B1 was incorporated at levels of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.4 p.p.m. in a laying mash ration which was fed to laying hens. The eggs from hens at all three feeding levels contained measurable amounts of aflatoxin B1. Some eggs from hens given the ration containing 0.4 p.p.m. were stored at 3° C. for 9 months before analysis; no aflatoxin was found in these eggs.
