Case report demonstrates successful conservative management of parotid salivary gland lipomatosis in a dog, indicating non-surgical treatment can yield favorable clinical outcomes.
This case report describes lipomatosis of the left parotid salivary gland in a 12‐year‐old, female, neutered English Springer Spaniel. Salivary lipomatosis is a poorly understood condition that has not been commonly reported in dogs. The patient was presented with a non‐painful, soft mass within the left parotid region. The diagnosis was made based on advanced imaging and histopathology on a Tru‐Cut biopsy of the lesion. The patient underwent conservative management and has responded well on follow‐up.
