The growth time τ π g of the π emission has been obtained to be 100±20 ps in KI crystals at LHeT. τ π g is comparable to the growth time τ T g of 210±15 ps for the Trip. absorption band due to the STE at 3 Σ u + (σ u ,1 s σ g ). The fast growing and decaying component observed previously on the growth curve of the absorption has not been detected on that of the π emission.
