Amiodarone effectively treated concurrent maternal and fetal tachyarrhythmias, restoring maternal sinus rhythm and reducing fetal heart rate to allow for delivery at 38 weeks.

Amiodarone can be an effective transplacental treatment for concurrent maternal and fetal tachyarrhythmia, particularly when maternal left ventricular systolic dysfunction limits other pharmacological options.
Amiodarone may control rare concurrent maternal-fetal tachyarrhythmias; single case leaves open safety and efficacy questions.
The occurrence of a maternal and fetal tachyarrhythmia together in pregnancy is exceedingly rare. We report a case of a persistent fetal atrial ectopic tachycardia occurring in conjunction with a maternal atrial tachycardia with left ventricular systolic dysfunction. Amiodarone was effective in treating both maternal and fetal arrhythmias.

Gabarin et al. (2017) conducted a case report in Concurrent maternal and fetal tachyarrhythmia (n=1). Amiodarone was evaluated on Heart rate control and conversion to sinus rhythm. Amiodarone effectively treated concurrent maternal and fetal tachyarrhythmias, restoring maternal sinus rhythm and reducing fetal heart rate to allow for delivery at 38 weeks.
