A quantitative analysis of 387 brain transit studies is presented. The perfusion study was most useful in detecting the side of acute cerebrovascular accident and transient cerebral ischemia when the static study was negative. Perfusions were disparate in 12 to 27 per cent of cases in which the finding was not anticipated. The cerebral radiopertechnetate transit study did not improve the detection frequency of primary and secondary intracranial neoplasms.
