A power meter for measuring transmission power in optical fibres has been developed. A thermistor element is used for the power sensor, and can be calibrated by a calorimetric technique. It is available for power levels of 1 μW˜10 mW at wavelengths of 400–1600nm with an accuracy of 2.5˜0.5%.
