A new temperature-sensing system is proposed in this paper. This sensing system is not sensitive to strain response. The technique employs two fiber gratings with coated metals which have different thermal expansion coefficients and the same physical tension coefficients to measure temperature response. The temperature can be determined by the Bragg wavelength difference between the two coated FGBs.
