The Arduino board and programming language is an inexpensive way for faculty to teach embedded system design in introductory courses. In this tutorial, the Arduino board, programming language, and development environment will be introduced. Additionally, simple real-world electronic interfaces for Arduino systems, such as LED's, switches, and sensors, will be presented.
