The AsKβ band in As2O3 and the X‐ray photoelectron spectra of crystalline As2O3 and Sb2O3, and amorphous As2S3 are interpreted by means of the SW method in terms of simple solid state clusters using energy dependent transition probabilities. Considering the simplicity of the applied models the theoretical results agree well with experiment.
