We study the dynamics of a two-layer baroclinic quasi-geostrophic model. We prove that the semigroup {document}(t)≥ 0{document} associated with the solutions of the model has a global attractor in both {document}Hₚ¹(Ω){document} and {document}Hₚ²(Ω){document} . Also we show that for any viscosity {document}μ>0{document} , there is an open and dense set of forcing {document}G⊂ Hₚ⁰(Ω){document} such that for each {document}G = (g₁, g₂)∈ G{document} , the set {document}S(G, μ) ⊂ Hₚ⁴(Ω){document} of the steady state problem is non–empty and finite.
