The reactivity ratios for the copolymerization of p‐triphenyltinstyrene (M1) and styrene (M2) have been determined by the Fineman and Ross method to be r1 = 2.55 and r2 = 0.93. The values for vinyltoluene copolymerization are r1 = 3, and r2 = 0.60. The latter values indicate that p‐triphenyltinstyrene‐copolymers with styrene or vinyl‐toluene contain blocks of the former monomer unit. The rate of homopolymerization of p‐triphenyltinstyrene and p‐triphenylleadstyrene in toluene was shown to be the same at 50°C.
