Amorphous molybdenum oxosulfide precipitation in the acetone−water mixed solvent leads to the variety of original morphologies, including entangled tubules, hollow spheres, and sponge-like fractal structures. The dominating type of morphology obtained can be controlled by the variations of the amount of different electrolytes present in the reaction mixture, such as NH 4 SCN, KCl, (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4, or (NH 2 OH 2 )HSO 4 . The qualitative analogy between the observed behavior and vesiculation of lipids is discussed.
