The homoallylic rearrangement of the norborn-5-en-2-yl radical to the 3-nortricyclyl radical is observed by esr. An analysis of esr spectra of norborn-5-en-2-yl, benzonorbornen-2-yl, and naphthonorbornen-2-yl radicals suggests that the homoconjugation involved in these radicals is not large.
