Some significant correlations have been established between the time of relaxation, ATPase/Ca-uptake ratio and Tl/T2-ratio in myotonias. Apart from some morphometabolic features peculiar to Steinert''s disease and ascribed to the distrophy itself, we consider that a genetically induced prevalence of Tl fibres in muscle mosaic is the condition determining the myotonic state.
