The Sr⁸⁷-Rb⁸⁷ and A⁴⁰-A⁴⁰ ages of minerals contained in three pre-Pahrump igneous and metamorphic rocks were determined. The results indicate an event at 1.7 X 10⁹ years. Since the rock types investigated have distinct continental affinities, it is concluded that continental growth has not occurred in this area since that time. Concordant ages obtained on two rocks gave results in disagreement with the observed field relationships.
