The thermal conductivities of the insulating ferromagnets K₂CuCl₄ ·{} 2H₂O, Rb₂CuCl₄ ·{} 2H₂O, (NH₄)₂CuCl₄ ·{} 2H₂O, and (NH₄)₂CuBr₄ ·{} 2H₂O have been measured at liquid-helium temperatures with emphasis on the region of the Curie point. Thermal transport was found to be due to phonons in the range of the experiments, possible magnon transport being negligible. The data were analyzed with a relaxation rate for critical scattering based on the mode-mode coupling schemes. In the paramagnetic phase the results are in accord with theory. However, this simple analysis fails in the ferromagnetic phase.
