Using the separated-beam method, we have measured the full second-order nonlinear optical tensors of the crystals GdCa4O(BO3)3 and YCa4O(BO3)3. Our d tensors (d = chi(2)/2) differ from those of previous reports but give nearly the same values of d_eff for type-I doubling of 1064-nm light. However, for other wavelengths or for type-II doubling, our tensors give values for d_eff distinctly different from the alternative tensors.
