The new bicyclic fusidilactones D (1) and E (2), along with the known and related fusidilactone B (3), have been isolated from the fungal endophyte Fusidium sp. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analysis and the relative configurations were confirmed by an X‐ray diffraction study of a single crystal of 3. The absolute configurations were determined by TDDFT calculations of CD spectra using the solid‐state CD/TDDFT approach. The metabolites exhibited moderate antifungal, antibacterial, and antialgal activities. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
