We report here a high-temperature, low-cost, mixed-conducting, triple-phase membrane for high-flux and selective CO 2 /O 2 capture and in situ conversion of methane into syngas via dry-oxy methane reforming (DOMR). The membrane is composed of a porous NiO-SDC matrix filled with molten carbonate. With Ar as the sweeping gas, the membrane exhibits a CO 2 and O 2 flux density of 1.17 and 0.52 mL min –1 cm –2, respectively, at 850 °C. With CH 4 –Ar as the sweep gas and Ni 0.2 Mg 0.8 O–1 wt % Pt (NMP) as the catalyst, the in situ DOMR reaction delivers a syngas production rate of 7.4 mL min –1 cm –2 with a CH 4 conversion rate of 84.1%. A long-term test of the membrane reactor shows a stable performance.
