Ductile yet hard magnesium based composites containing varying amount of molybdenum particulates were synthesized using an innovative disintegrated melt deposition route followed by hot extrusion. Good interfacial integrity was observed between molybdenum particulates and the magnesium matrix. The novel Mg‐Mo composites further revealed superior coefficient of thermal expansion and elastic modulus when compared to pure magnesium.
