New trigonal laser crystals with Ca-gallogermanate structure (space group D23−P321) with record broad-band continuous tunable (from 0.81 till 1.25 μm) stimulated emission of octahedral Cr3+ ions (4T2 → 4A2 channel) at room temperature are discovered and investigated. These acentric compounds also open the way for the creation of tunable solid-state lasers with frequency selfdoubling.
