We investigate several meson-exchange potentials the parameters of which are fixed to describe nucleon-nucleon phase shifts, and we find some variations in their predictions of NN{} observables which should not be present, as we discuss. We find that most data can be roughly reproduced with only one or two free parameters in very simple annihilation models.
