A series of [B 12 H 12 ] 2− , [B 10 H 10 ] 2− and [B 6 H 7 ] − salts were prepared with excellent hydrolytic and thermal stabilities ( T d > 200 °C), especially ultra-fast ignition delay times (as low as 1 ms) upon contact with white fuming nitric acid or N 2 O 4, which is a superior ignition performance.
