The low-temperature cell described here is designed for laser Raman instruments (such as the Spex Ramalog) with 90° viewing and the beam entering the sample chamber from the bottom.1 It yields Raman spectra under conditions which are analogous to those of the popular Wagner-Hornig low temperature infrared cell.2 Thus, full advantage may be taken of the complementary nature of Raman and infrared spectra.
