The spectrum resulting from radiative association of the hydrogen molecular ion is computed. It is found that this mechanism produces less energy at visual wave lengths than does the negative hydrogen ion, which has a similar density dependence. Energy from molecular association is dominant in the ultraviolet at high temperatures but is still insufficient to account for any observed nebular radiation.
