Complexes of the form (Cp † )TiCl 2 (NPR 3 ) and the analogous dimethyl derivatives (Cp † )TiMe 2 (NPR 3 ) have been prepared. These species in the presence of MAO, B(C 6 F 5 ) 3, or [Ph 3 C][B(C 6 F 5 ) 4 ] are active catalysts for ethylene polymerization.
