Comparative analysis demonstrates optimal stabilizer mixtures in contaminated agricultural soils, indicating practical remediation criteria based on pollutant type and pollution index.
This study evaluated the application characteristics and mixing ratio of stabilizers for contaminated agricultural soils in Korea.Domestic application cases of stabilization for soils contaminated with As, heavy metals, and As and heavy metals were collected and evaluated using the lower confidence bound (LCB), considering stabilization efficiency, standard deviation, and sample size. The results showed that steel slag exhibited the highest stabilization performance in soils contaminated by As, whereas mixed stabilizers with limestone and steel slag showed the highest performance in soils contaminated with heavy metals and soils contaminated with As and heavy metals. In addition, mixing ratio ranges were established according to the As concentration and pollution index (PI), and optimal stabilizer application criteria were proposed. The proposed criteria can be used as basic reference data for determining stabilizer application ranges in contaminated agricultural soil restoration.
