The authors have observed autoionisation of atomic fragments following dissociation of oxygen compounds (O 2 , CO 2 , N 2 O, H 2 O, SO 2 ) and CF 4 induced by negative-ion (O - , F - , H - ) and proton impact at energies of a few keV. The autoionising atoms were identified by the characteristics of the ejected electron spectra observed in electron spectroscopy.
