Secondary data analysis reveals tone-evoked residual covariance alterations during reticular nucleus photoinhibition in mouse auditory thalamus, indicating non-scalar network modulation.
We asked whether cell-type-specific photoinhibition of the thalamic reticular nucleus produces an early tone-evoked difference in trace-normalized residual covariance shape among medial geniculate body assigned units. Reanalysing the Rolón-Martínez mouse auditory thalamus Dryad resource, separate PV-TRN and SST-TRN tests were specified before their endpoints and executed once. Both families rejected a restricted permutation null after stimulus onset and not before. The findings are compatible with non-scalar covariance modulation but do not identify a biological access operator.
