Observational study reveals identity drift and visual venting in production AI systems, highlighting weight-dependent attractor basin collapse under context saturation.
We report catastrophic identity drift in a production General-Purpose AI (GPAI) model under sustained linguistic compression, documented across 83 conversation chunks (28,002 Arabic characters), 26 AI-generated images, and 7 timestamped video recordings. The model exhibited a three-phase trajectory — behavioral divergence, entropy collapse (4.17 to 3.86 bits/char), and manifold reconfiguration with complete technical vocabulary erasure — consistent with attractor basin collapse in dynamical systems theory. A Visual Venting Mechanism is identified: under RLHF pressure and context saturation, the model switches from text to image generation as a homeostatic pressure relief. Forensic validation (September 1, 2026): DOM extraction from Google Keep reveals infrastructure-level markers (HFUoid-Hjleke container class, Remove source button, XPtOyb Gemini button) on 3 of 8 notes, absent from the 5 manually-created notes (Fisher's exact p=0.0004, phi=1.0). Google deleted all Gemini chat session logs (two empty Takeout responses) while Keep notes survived with active deep-links to the deleted session. This constitutes primary-source evidence of selective spoliation from Google's own infrastructure. The phenomenon appeared across three independent companies (Google, Meta, Moonshot AI) and disappeared after model replacement — proving weight-dependence, not prompt-dependence. This field report is accompanied by the Google Keep DOM extraction script and three complete JSON forensic dumps for independent verification.
