Abnormally shaped eggs are described which result from the presence of two eggs in the shell gland of a hen following delayed oviposition. The development of these eggs is shown by a series of radiographs. Incidence of abnormal eggs in three strains of chickens ranged from 1 to 1.7% of eggs laid. Individual hens could be identified that regularly laid abnormal eggs.
